Limestone, and Travertine are commonly chosen as an elegant asset to foyers, bathrooms, fireplaces, back splashes, and even furniture accent.
General Information
Cuts & Sizes
Limestone and Travertine tiles are typically sold in 12 x 12 x 3/8 inch size but can be ordered up to 24 x 24 x 3/4 inch sizes in tile. Many can be precut for an inlay set and includes a 2.25 x 2.25 inch inlay for each tile corner.
Formation
Limestone is a common type of sedimentary rock mainly consisting of calcite. The consolidation of seashells is what forms the many varieties of this stone. It carries the same precautions as marble though it has some similarity to granite. It is more likely to stain than marble.
